Worst Behavior is thrilled to share the Deep Red EP by longtime friend of the label Doctor Jeep. NYC-based Doctor Jeep has been a favorite producer for many years thanks to his impeccable dancefloor chops, wide-ranging approach to different electronic styles and genres, and consistent focus on low end. Over the years we’ve seen Doctor Jeep bring his signature sound to halftime, drum n bass, dubstep, electro, breaks, ~100 bpm chuggers, and so much more, and this release is similarly versatile. Deep Red sees Doctor Jeep team up with different friends for heavy tracks spanning club/electro, dancehall, and halftime, and a hard-hitting dnb/jungle remix of “Deep Red” by bass bossman J:Kenzo.

The dancehall-tinged title track “Deep Red” is a collaboration with UK artist Grove. Grove is a powerhouse, creating music informed by their punk ethos and appreciation for the power of soundsystem culture. Grove & Doctor Jeep’s combined talents create an infectious banger that has been turning heads.

“I’m Rushing” and “Hammerhead” see Doctor Jeep team up with Hedchef, an Australia-based producer specializing in creating off-kilter club constructions. “Hammerhead” nods to Jeep’s Brazilian heritage, combining Brazilian vocals with electro elements and a sparse but heavy beat pattern reminiscent of aspects of club music or grime. “I’m Rushing” brings breakbeat rave energy into a futuristic club format, yielding major rollage and wonky basslines that will keep you moving.

Longtime Canadian producer Tamarak and Doctor Jeep delve into halftime territory with “Destroyer”, starting slow and minimal and building as more and more techy breaks and percussion come in. Dubstep and bass pioneer J:Kenzo took on remix duties for the EP, flipping “Deep Red” into a sought-after high energy jungle and drum n bass tune.

Deep Red is a work of collaboration with friends, and the results are a series of irresistible tracks bringing out some of the best of each collaborator.
